Eat, lose weight, and gain weight are contradictory words to overweight people, as they never admit that they eat too much. The bare truth is that they ingest large amount of calories that need to be changed (reduced). If a normal person eats around 2000 calories per, day he neither gains nor loses weight according to physiological principles, then how do you think, he gained that weight?. Write down what you eat for 1 week and you will discover you eat far more than 2000 calories.

Now after you have realized the fact that you are overeating, you need to change your eating habits, and here are some tips to help you easily perform that change to lose weight:

1- Eat your best foods and do not think you are “on diet”:

Pick out the best from your daily diet and use them to make the change in your new eating habits. Do not lie a prisoner for the “diet” idea because you know it will end some day. When we know the diet is ended, many of us gain back all the lost weight, or most of it. Make your usual foods serve the purpose of acquiring a new life style.

2- Do not be “too generous” with your body:

It is evidenced that that as long as there is more choice on offer, we consume more foods and calories. Try to reduce the variety of food for each meal, to leave no room for one more item like a delicious looking dessert or ice cream.

You can select a balanced diet and lower the amount of choice for each meal by eating regular small meals.

3- Do not neutralize the possible weight loss benefits of a food:

When Mayonnaise is added to salad, it overloads it with calories and makes it one of the worst weight loss foods. If you fill your potatoes with baked beans or cottage cheese you will keep away tons of calories that come from a gigantic butter you added to the potatoes.

4- Add a little protein to a meal or a snack:

A study showed that protein in each meal suppresses the appetite of people on Atkins’ diet more than those on the low fat diet. It seems that Dr Atkins discovered that protein dulls the appetite1!

A good recipe for weight loss is to be convinced that eat too much, change this habit, and eat in a healthy style to lose weight.
